One of my favorite parts of a winter wedding is the moody, jewel-toned floral. I love white and green like the next girl, and don’t get me wrong, peonies are my absolute favorite flower, but the jewel tones and dark shades that make winter weddings the richness they are just makes my heart sigh!
I was approached by Brooke of The Detailed I Do and Megan of Megan Montalvo Photography to be part of the amazing collaborative team that created this amazing winter wedding at Swiftwater Cellars in Cle Elum, Washington. Brooke had a vision that she brainstormed with Megan, a vision of dark, elegant, jewel-tones accented by the breathtaking beauty of the mountains, the green of the coniferous trees, and the warm wood feel of the Cellars.
As soon as Brooke mentioned rose gold, I knew immediately I had to tie it in, seeing as it is my favorite metal! After covering the alternating layers of dark cacao + brown sugar vanilla bean cake with salted caramel buttercream, I painted rose gold lustre dust onto the cake creating a marbled effect. A dark chocolate ganache drip created a bit of drama, and berries and pieces of Leah’s jewel-toned floral accented the cake simply yet beautifully.
Leah of Leah Erickson Floral brought buckets of beautiful jewel-toned stems and created everything from bouquets, to center pieces, to hair pieces (stunning!), to accent bouquets.
